ASIRT investigating officer-involved shooting in Edmonton

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Edmonton.

Around 4:15 p.m. Friday, officers were called to reports of a man with a weapon at a northeast residence in the area of 118 Avenue and 68 Street.

Upon arrival, two officers approached the man which then led to a confrontation and forced the officers to discharge their weapons.

EMS were called and pronounced the man dead on scene.

No officers were harmed but the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has been called in to investigate.
