Man, 23, charged with manslaughter in First Nation homicide

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – RCMP have charged a man in the death of 54-year-old Rufus Clive Rain last week.

Lynden Aerin Bird, 23, has been charged with one count of manslaughter, according to a release sent Saturday.

Police found Rain’s body outside a home in the Paul Band First Nation on Aug. 28. RCMP say they arrested Bird on Sept. 3.

Both men were from the Paul Band First Nation, though police have not revealed if they knew each other.

Bird will appear in court Wednesday in Stony Plain.
