CALGARY (660 NEWS) – One person was sent to hospital after Calgary fire crews responded to two fires on Thursday evening.

Firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the southwest community of Canyon Meadows where they found smoke coming from a building.

The fire was limited to the kitchen area but resulted in one person being sent to hospital.

Firefighters were also called to a home on St. Andrews Place northwest just around 7:15 p.m. where they were met with smoke and flames coming out of the two-story building.
