CALGARY (660 NEWS) – It’s the draw with seemingly no end in sight.

The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation has once again postponed its 50/50 raffle draw.

After weeks of delay, the organization planned to pick a winner Wednesday afternoon. But the draw that has been overshadowed with problems is now being put off again due to “delays in processing final refunds.”

“We are doing this to ensure customers who followed the requisite refund process can ensure their tickets have been voided and refunds initiated,” said the foundation in a release. “Our technology provider Ascend has assured us this work will be done in short order and we will be in a position to draw the winning ticket very soon.

“We again apologize for the inconvenience this delay has caused. We are disappointed, but the integrity of draw and consumer protection has always been our top priority.”

The pot for the Aug. 7 online draw hit more than $15 million, but the online servers were overwhelmed with requests to purchase tickets and it led to problems that required refunds.

The final tally is now $14.3 million and a winning ticket was to be drawn at 4 p.m., however that came and went with no winner being announced.

The foundation says it will announce a timeline for when the draw might happen Thursday morning.
