Drumheller RCMP looking for attempted robbery suspect

DRUMHELLER (660 NEWS) – Following an attempted armed robbery in the Drumheller area last week, Mounties say to call them instead of reporting crimes on social media.

They say last Thursday they received reports of the attempted robbery at the Canada Post office in Rosedale, just south of Drumheller.

Unfortunately, the report came in through a social media post, so they didn’t respond for three hours.

A suspect had barged into the office with what looked like a gun, demanded money, but then fled on foot when the clerk closed the wicket and went to the back of the office.

Officers are now on the lookout for a man in his 20s with long, greasy blonde hair, and a goatee. He was wearing a plaid shirt and jeans at the time of the attempt.

If you have any additional information about the attempted robbery, you are asked to contact Drumheller RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
