CN rail workers struck by truck while repairing damaged track

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Two CN railway workers were taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a pickup truck at a railway crossing on Highway 60 late Friday night.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the Parkland County railway crossing.

The two rail workers were repairing a track damaged by a derailed train when they were struck by a pickup truck heading north on Highway 60 from Highway 16A.

Ambulances transported the two CN crew members to hospital, where they remain in serious condition.

RCMP say the driver of the truck remained at the scene and sustained only minor injuries. Police are investigating.
