CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Three swimming pools in the city were ordered to close this month due to fecal coliform in the water.

Two pools at the Gold’s Gym on Country Hills Blvd. as well as the Highwood Outdoor pool in the northwest were given the closure orders earlier this month.

The Highwood pool has since satisfied testing requirements and reopened Thursday.

According to Alberta Health Services (AHS), two water samples taken at the Gold’s Gym pools showed the presence of total coliform.

The gym is being asked to treat the water to remove the bacteria and resubmit samples to AHS before reopening.
