Sinkhole shuts down part of Southland drive SW

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A water main break led to a giant sinkhole on a busy roadway in southwest Calgary.
The massive hole was discovered Wednesday morning in the westbound lanes of Southland drive between Elbow Drive and 14 St. SW.
Police say at least two vehicles have gotten stuck in the crater.

City crews have already moved into to start repairing the sinkhole which could take a day or two to complete.
Drivers are asked to take alternate routes such as Anderson road and Heritage drive get around the road closures.
