127 new COVID-19 cases in Alberta, one additional death

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – One more person has died from COVID-19 related complications in Alberta, which brings the total number of deaths to 195.

The death was a man in his 80’s from Central Zone.

In Friday’s provincial update 127 new cases were reported.

Twenty-nine of the new cases are in the Calgary area, and active cases in the city dropped by 50 since Thursday.

About half of the new cases are in the Central zone.

Currently, there are 1,386 active cases in Alberta, 86 hospitalizations with 17 of those in the ICU.

There have been 9,261 recoveries from COVID-19 as of Friday afternoon.
