CALGARY (660 NEWS) — One man has been sent to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition after a shooting in northwest Calgary on Friday night.

Calgary police responded to an apartment complex on 1 Avenue NW just after 10 p.m., after receiving reports of multiple gunshots.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found an injured male in his late 20s-early 30s near the building and was transported to hospital by EMS.

Acting inspector Mark McCann says officers continue to gather all of the details involved in the case.

“It is believed at this point that this is a targetted incident, this was not random,” McCann said.

He added the investigation is ongoing.

“It’s sitting with our general investigations unit and along with the assistance of our crime scenes unit who remain at scene processing the area,” he said.

Police also added no suspects are in custody.
