Calgary RIDE CYCLE CLUB shuts down following confirmed COVID-19 case

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — RIDE CYCLE CLUB is temporarily closing after an instructor trainee tested positive for COVID-19.

Operations were immediately shut down and the company deployed a notification and awareness strategy.

“We have mandated all Calgary RIDE staff to be tested and self-isolate immediately,” RIDE said in a statement.

“We do not have a final number and we remain unaware of how the first positive trainee contracted COVID-19 before entering the training space. We also sent out a nationwide email to our distribution list to ensure no one was missed.”

The space was only being used by training instructors as RIDE was preparing to open its full studio in the coming months.

Friends and family who entered the building for training classes were though invite only.

RIDE said it has fully sanitized the space and will remain closed until it feels safe to reopen.
