Alberta finds 47 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths recorded

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) — Alberta confirmed 47 new cases of COVID-19 after conducting more than 6,000 tests in the past 24 hours.

Two people in the Edmonton Zone died due to complications from COVID-19, bringing the total death toll in the province to 157.

Active cases increased by 13 since Monday, for a total of 620 province-wide.

A list of active cases by each health zone:

  • Calgary zone: 230
  • Edmonton zone: 243
  • Central zone: 4
  • South zone: 86
  • North zone: 51
  • Unknown: 6

There are currently 54 people hospitalized, six of those in the intensive care unit.

Alberta has confirmed a total of 8,436 COVID-19 cases since March, of those 7,659 have recovered.

Alberta is closing in on half-a-million completed tests for COVID-19.
