CALGARY (660 NEWS) – No one was hurt after a house under construction went up in flames early Monday morning.

Calgary firefighters were called to the home on Drury Ave. NE just after 3:00 a.m.

“On arrival, the crews were met with a large amount of smoke and flames,” said Batallion Chief Paul Frederick. “They (firefighters) called a second alarm immediately.”

Frederick added surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution.

Two nearby homes did suffer damage from the heat of the fire.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
