Curfew implemented on Siksika First Nation following increase of COVID-19 investigations

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Effective immediately, the Siksika First Nation will now have a curfew in place.
The curfew will be in effect seven days a week from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The announcement was made on Friday just before 4 p.m. over social media by the Chief and council on the reserve.
Siksika is investigating 317 people for possible COVID-19 cases, an increase of 59 from Thursday.

Twenty-two known COVID-19 cases are linked to Siksika and there are currently 10 active cases on the reserve.
There are 90 individuals or households in isolation, nine of those outside the reserve.
Health officials, there are aware of seven case clusters in total with links to Siksika, on and off-reserve.
Chief Ouray Crowfoot encouraged members to continue to follow public health orders and limit gatherings both indoor and outdoor to less than 10 individuals in a Facebook video posted Thursday.
The Siksika First Nation reserve is about 100 kilometres east of Calgary.
