Alberta records 57 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths

EDMONTON (660NEWS) — Alberta health officials have found 57 new COVID-19 cases after conducted 6,739 tests in the past 24 hours.

As of Friday, there are 572 active cases province-wide, an increase of 30 from the previous day.

A list of active cases by each health zone:

  • Calgary zone : 216
  • Edmonton zone : 240
  • Central zone : 3
  • South zone: 73
  • North zone: 38
  • Unknown: 15

There are 42 people hospitalized from the disease, nine of whom are in the intensive care unit.

Health officials have one area in Alberta under its ‘watch’ category of the COVID-19 relaunch status. County of Warner in southern Alberta has 39 active cases in its population of 10,994. When under a watch the province monitors the risk and discuses with local government and other community leaders the possible need for additional health measures.

There have been 7,532 recoveries.

The death toll remains unchanged at 155.
