Serious crash halts traffic on the QEII near Millet

MILLET (660 NEWS) – One man is in hospital after a serious collision on the QEII Highway near the town of Millet.
RCMP say they responded to the crash in the northbound lanes at the Millet overpass at 7:35 a.m., Wednesday morning.
Officers say a semi-truck and trailer travelling north went off the road and struck the side of the bridge.
The driver of the semi was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.
Traffic needed to be re-routed on Highway 616 in both directions.
One lane of the Highway is now open to alternating traffic.

Police are still looking into what caused the collision.
