Police seize nearly $63K in cocaine and cash, Calgary man arrested

CALGARY (CITYNEWS) – A Calgary man has been arrested after police seized almost $63,000 worth of crack cocaine and cash from a Fort McMurray home.

Razwanullah Rahmani, 27, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

Investigators from the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) searched the Fort McMurray residence on June 18 and found 449 grams of crack cocaine and more than $18,000 in cash. They arrested Rahmani later that day.

“This is a significant seizure for Fort McMurray,” said Insp. Sean Boser in a release. “ALERT is proud to work with its partner agencies to keep dangerous drugs like these off the streets of Alberta communities.”

Rahmani is scheduled to appear in court in August.
