COVID-19 numbers up in Alberta, hospitalizations down

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) — The number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise but hospitalizations are decreasing.

According to the latest update from Alberta Health, 32 new cases were reported bringing the total number of active cases in the province to 542.

Active case numbers in the Calgary Zone sit at 245, while the Edmonton Zone has 236.

The good news is only 32 people are in hospital with the illness with six in intensive care.

There have been 7,736 total cases recorded in the province since early March, of those 7,041 people have recovered.

The province has conducted 396,300 tests.
