EDMONTON (660 NEWS) — Alberta NDP leader Rachel Notley calls the Fair Deal Panel report nothing more than a cynical, political distraction from the UCP government’s failure to make progress on things that matter to Albertans.

Notley posted a statement online saying it also shoots down one of the key recommendations, to establish an Alberta Pension Plan.

She says the last thing Albertans want is “this premier’s hands anywhere near their retirement savings.”

It also states that if the premier is interested in creating fairness, he would ensure paid sick leave for frontline workers, rehire educational staff, provide relief funds to Calgarians affected by the recent hailstorm and much more.

Notley adds the report does nothing to get people back to work and wants the government to fight for all Albertans.
