Alberta RCMP focused on protecting public after fair deal report released

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) — Alberta RCMP says it will continue to work on prioritizing the safety of citizens as long as they are allowed to operate in the province.

That statement comes after Alberta revealed recommendations of its Fair Deal Panel, saying it will look into dissolving the RCMP and replace it with a provincial police force.

Commanding Officer of the Alberta detachment Curtis Zablocki says they will continue to modernize policing services and processes in the province, knowing the needs and concerns of Albertans play a large role in shaping how they evolve.

The RCMP says it will continue to work closely with all parties to hear concerns and address the issues that are impacting Albertans most.
