Charges laid in Smith homicide case

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — A breakthrough in the Shane Smith homicide case.
Police have laid three charges against 24-year-old Ian Charles Abercrombie.

Abercrombie has been charged with second-degree murder, indignity to a human body and breaching a court order and breach of a firearm prohibition order.
Investigators say they’re still searching for Smith’s body and would like to speak with anyone who drove over the Bow River Bridge on Deerfoot Trail SE between midnight on Saturday, June 6 and 9:00 a.m. Sunday, June 7.

Calgary police will speak to the charges on Wednesday.
