Missing Calgary man now believed to have been killed

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary Police are looking for a man who is now believed to have been the victim of a homicide.

Shane Eric James Smith has been missing for at least a week and was reported missing by his family on June 7.

Calgary Police Service’s Homicide team is now seeking assistance in locating his body.

The 20-year-old was last seen in McKenzie Towne on June 6.

Investigators believe Smith’s vehicle, a gold 2002 Nissan Maxima, was driven and parked near the bridge over the Bow River on Deerfoot Trail on the south end of the city, on June 9.

However, investigators believe Smith was killed on June 6 at a residence in southeast Calgary.

Police are asking that anyone who was driving on the bridge at around 11 p.m on June 6 or the morning of June 9 to contact them.

Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Calgary Police Services or Crime Stoppers.
