Police arrest two men in overnight Taradale shooting, car crash

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary police are investigating an overnight shooting in the community of Taradale, in the city’s northeast, that led to a car crash and two arrests.

Police say they received reports of shots being fired Friday night around 10:15 p.m.

The occupants of a silver vehicle reportedly fired toward a dark-coloured BMW, doing property damage to nearby homes in the process. No injuries were reported on the scene.

The suspect vehicle then fled the area, heading in the direction of Deerfoot Trail. The dark BMW also drove away.

Police say they located the silver suspect vehicle shortly after when it was involved in a single-car collision on the ramp leading to 64 Avenue north.

Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested. The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries while the passenger sustained minor injuries.

The two male suspects cannot be named until formally charged.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the occupants of the dark-coloured BMW.
