COVID-19 drop-in testing centre to open Wednesday

By

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Any Albertan wishing to be tested for COVID-19 can now do so, regardless of whether or not they’re experiencing symptoms.

On Wednesday, a drop-in clinic will open in Calgary for anyone who prefers not to schedule an appointment.

The clinic will be inside the Richmond Road Diagnostic and Treatment Centre at 1820 Richmond Road S.W and will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. all week.

Those wishing to set up an appointment can still do so free-of-charge at six AHS centres in the Calgary Zone and can book the session online or by calling 811.

COVID-19 tests involve a throat swab that will tell whether the patient has the virus, regardless of symptoms.

Patients will get the results of the tests within a few days by phone. If positive, 10 days of isolations are legally required to prevent spread of the virus.
