CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Nine people will have to find somewhere to stay after the Calgary Fire Department spent much of Friday evening at a house fire near the area of Centre Street and 60 Avenue N.E.
Once on scene, crews attacked the fire that is believed to have started from a kitchen fan and spread to the attic.
Calgary transit did bring a bus to shelter the residents from the constant rain while housing was arranged.
The Calgary Police Service also shut down a portion of Centre Street for a period of time as well.
Crews will remain at the scene checking for fire extension and hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
