NEW YORK / TORONTO (660 NEWS) – Hockey fans will now be able to don their favourite team while taking precautions during the pandemic and supporting coronavirus relief efforts.

The NHL is now selling licensed cloth face coverings, with the league’s proceeds going to the Feeding America and Food Banks Canada COVID-19 Response Fund.

“The health, well-being and safety of our fans and all communities across Canada, the United States and around the world, is our number one priority,” Kim Davis, NHL EVP, Social Impact, Growth Initiatives & Legislative Affairs said on Tuesday.

“We’re committed to assisting in the effort to support the face covering guidelines from the CDC and Health Canada with the important benefit and outcome of helping food banks across the U.S. and Canada in their efforts to feed people in need during this unprecedented time.”

A pack of three costs $36 CDN.

The face coverings are intended for personal use, not medical use.

Food Banks Canada works with a network of 3,500+ organizations coast-to-coast. You can also make donations here.
