CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Stampede will provide an update Thursday afternoon as speculation continues on whether or not the event should be cancelled.
In a release, the Stampede says it will address the media at 3:00 p.m. (we will livestream on our website).
This event happens as the biggest summer event in Edmonton has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
Organizers of K-Days announced Thursday they won’t be holding the popular event this year.

Northlands President and CEO Peter Male said the decision was incredibly difficult.
“We felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed but we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.”
The 141st edition of the festival was scheduled to run July 17-26, one week after the Calgary Stampede.
