41st annual Calgary Folk Music Festival cancelled

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Folk Music Festival will not be going ahead as planned because of COVID-19.For 41 years, the July event has been taking place in the heart of downtown Calgary, providing visitors with live music.

Each year, the festival attracts more than 50,000 visitors.

“We know it’s a challenging time for many folks. As a charitable arts organization in these uncertain times, we want to offer our sincere gratitude for your ongoing support of the Calgary Folk Music Festival,” said organizers in a release.

“Those that have already purchased a ticket for the 2020 festival, you may request a full refund or donate your ticket for a tax receipt”

The Folk Festival is scheduled to return to Prince’s Island Park for July 2021.
