Third Calgary restaurant ordered to close for violating health orders

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Another Calgary restaurant has been ordered to close for reportedly violating public health orders.

The order has been issued to the owner of the Stonewall Pub, on Ranchlands Blvd. NW. According to Alberta Health Services (AHS), the pub was offering dine-in services, and customers were reportedly being served alcohol.

The owner of the pub has reached out to 660 NEWS. He claims he wasn’t serving customers, but rather a small group of staff and friends. He says he will have to appear before an AHS review board which will decide if he’ll receive a penalty.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the province ordered all pubs and restaurants to cancel all in-house dining services.

This is the third Calgary restaurant to receive a closure order this month. Earlier, both the Van Gogh Grill and Bar on Valley Ridge Dr NW and the Roadking Wok N’ Grill on Barlow Trail SE were ordered to close after customers were seen being served inside the dining room.
