EDMONTON (660 NEWS) — It’s the question most of us have been wondering since last month, can NHL hockey resume play in the province sometime soon?

There was a report out of ESPN that says the league is considering setting up teams at four different sites in North America to start play again in June or July with Edmonton listed as one of the potential spots.

Premier Jason Kenney says he has heard from commissioner Gary Bettman.

“(He) wanted to ask some questions about Alberta’s status in combating COVID and there was a very general conversation. We have not received a formal proposal of any kind,” Kenney said.

He says any further direction on such an idea would come on advice from the chief medical officer of health.
