2020 Calgary Expo officially cancelled

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – After rescheduling for mid-July, the Calgary Expo says it has cancelled the 2020 event altogether.

In a statement posted online, organizers of the popular event said the developments of COVID-19 globally and in Alberta have prompted them to cancel the expo.

“When we postponed the April show to July, we believed that would be enough time for things to settle down. We have been in touch with community partners, and despite all of our efforts and collaboration, it has become clear that July is not a viable option.”

If you purchased a ticket, your credit card will be refunded immediately and you don’t need to take any action.

The Expo said while fans won’t be able to be together in person this year, they will make an announcement in the coming week on organizing virtual meetings.

“Let’s stick together as a community, stay safe, and look after each other so we can celebrate fandom to the fullest next year from April 22-25, 2021.”
