AHS closes Calgary restaurant for violating health orders

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Another restaurant in the Calgary Zone has been shut down for disobeying health orders from Alberta Health Services (AHS).

According to AHS, the Van Gogh Grill and Bar on Valley Ridge Dr. NW was caught selling alcohol in its dining room.

According to the Public Health Order issued last month, restaurants and bars are prohibited from serving food and drink inside but are allowed to offer take-out services.

Last week, the Roadking Wok N’ Grill on Barlow Trail SE closed after it was seen serving customers inside. According to AHS, several customers were inside the dining room eating at different booths.

Meanwhile, the Anytime Fitness in Airdrie was asked to shut down immediately as people were inside working out.

AHS also said staff covered the windows of the building.

So far, there’s no word to whether fines will be issued to these companies.
