Sled Island Festival cancelled in response to COVID-19 concerns

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – COVID-19 precautions continue to put a hold on summer plans all over the world and now Calgary’s 2020 Sled Island Music and Arts Festival is feeling the blow.

The festival–initially set to take place from June 24 to 28–is now cancelled following travel restrictions and the announcement from the City of Calgary that all events with more than 50 people attending are to be postponed or cancelled.

In a release, the Sled Island team said that although the news is an obvious disappointment, it respects the city’s decision and plan to do its best to help flatten the curve.

Although the scope of the festival does not allow for the postponing of the event, organizers plan to return next summer.
