Calgary Transit limiting riders on buses, CTrains

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – More changes are coming to Calgary Transit in an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Starting Wednesday, Calgary Transit is limiting how many people will be allowed on trains and buses and enforcing a two-metre distance rule for all riders.

Digital signs will also be up in buses and shuttles telling people which seats to avoid.

Notices will also be up on CTrain platforms asking riders to follow social distancing etiquette and try to choose a different train car or wait for the next one if they are full.

“We’re doing our best to keep our transit system safe for everyone and that’s why we are asking Calgarians to work together by staying apart on our vehicles,” Calgary Transit said on Twitter.

Last month, CTrain service was scaled back due to fewer people riding the train amid the pandemic.
