One woman in hospital after serious northwest Calgary crash

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — One woman was sent to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in northwest Calgary on Friday.

Police say they were called to a three-vehicle crash at Crowchild Trail and 5 Avenue shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The crash involved a small city transit bus.

Police say the woman who was seriously injured was thrown from the bus, while another person inside the bus suffered minor injuries.

Southbound Crowchild Trail was closed at 5 Avenue for several hours as police investigated and cleaned up the crash.

Police don’t believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
