City of Calgary creates new business support taskforce

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The City of Calgary has created a group to support businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Business Sector Support Taskforce will have different stakeholders representing various industries and will work alongside the City Manager’s Office and the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA).

The taskforce will monitor, evaluate and manage sustainability and wellness in the business community.

The group will be chaired by the Leader of Business & Local Economy for the city Sonya Sharp and include Councillors Ward Sutherland, Jyoti Gondek and Peter Demong.

The city says it will regularly update its Covid-Business website as more information is expected to come from all levels of government daily.
