Two men in hospital after separate Calgary stabbings

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary Police kept busy Tuesday night with a pair of apparent stabbings.

The first occurred near the Dalhousie CTrain station in the northwest around 7:30 p.m.

Officers were called in to assist private security in arresting a man accused of stealing.

Police say as a result of the altercation, the suspect, a man in his 30s was discovered to have a stab wound and was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

According to police, they’re not sure how the man suffered the injury or if it was possibly an old injury re-opened.

Then around 8 p.m., a man suffered life-threatening injuries following a stabbing in the southeast.

Police say a number of suspects have also been arrested after responding to a disturbance near 19 Street and 62 Avenue.

No word yet on charges in either incident.
