CALGARY (660 NEWS) – It seems fraudsters are trying to take advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic in Alberta.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) says its received numerous reports of a phone scam telling callers they have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The scammers then ask for your credit card number in order to send medical supplies.

AHS says its staff will never call you and ask for your credit card information.

If you receive a scam call, you’re asked to hang up and contact your local police.
