Rogers cancels final Hometown Hockey stops amid Coronavirus concerns

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — For the remainder of the NHL season, there will be no more Rogers Hometown Hockey.

The cancellation follows a string of other large event cancellations to occur over the last few weeks due to COVID-19 concerns.

The final three stops on the broadcast tour were to be in the City of North Vancouver, Campbell River, and finish up in Edmonton.

The broadcast is known to highlight stories from within the community or city they are broadcasting from, with live features and interviews throughout.

Rogers says they still plan on highlighting the passionate hockey communities.

Ron Maclean and Tara Slone will instead host the broadcasts from the Sportsnet studios.

Rogers is the parent company of 660 NEWS and CityNews.
