Health Link training more workers due to increase in COVID-19 callers

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Wait times to contact Health Link are growing due to the number of people seeking advice on COVID-19.
That’s why more staff will be trained to help with the rise in calls to 811.

AHS says wait times for Health Link have been particularly high during peak times of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m and 6 p.m to 10 p.m.

They say you can help the call volumes by visiting the government website for information if you don’t need a health assessment.
Seven people have tested positive for the virus in Alberta with over 77 cases reported in Canada.
Nearly 1,500 people have been tested in the province.
