‘He will be missed’: Calgary police dog dies weeks before retirement

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Police Service is mourning the loss of one of its most valuable canines.

On its Facebook page Wednesday, police confirmed that Cinco, an Explosive Detection Dog passed away weeks before retirement.

Cinco joined the Calgary police in 2015 as an experienced police dog from Utah.

“He will be missed by all members of the Canine Unit and their families, along with our entire Service,” police said in the Facebook post.

Cinco’s death comes one month after a patrol dog named Max also passed away.
