Man in hospital after possible stabbing in Beltline

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A man is in stable condition in hospital after found bleeding and unconscious Wednesday morning.

Police said the 22-year-old man was found on 8 street near 14 Ave SW around 4 a.m. with what’s believed to be stab wounds.

The man reportedly walked into the Circle K convenience store on 8 Street and asked the cashier to phone 911 before fainting.

“He just came in and there was a lot of blood on the floor from his arm I think, I’m not sure. Then he just fainted and I called the cops.”

The cashier says while it is rare for someone to be bleeding inside the store he has had to deal with several people falling unconscious inside the store.

Police believe the stabbing may have happened on 11 Street and 11 Ave SW.

Calgary police remain at the store and right now there’s no word on any suspects or when the store will reopen.
