Government looking into commercial transportation

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Government of Alberta is reviewing the regulations for the commercial transportation industry to reduce red tape and remove redundant regulations on job creators.

The review will cover the use of electronic logging devices, hours of service rules, and Alberta’s implementation of national safety code standards.

Albertan’s all have a chance to get their word in with an online survey from February 18th to March 18th.

“Hearing from people who work in the right trenches is an important step to identifying where our government can cut time and money-saving red tape,” said Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction Grant Hunter.

The Government of Alberta oversees more than 25,000 commercial carriers in the province.

They will be working directly with commercial trucking and bus and service companies to ensure the rules focus on safety.
