The RCMP needs help naming the next generation of police dogs

By

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The RCMP is asking for your help in the naming of the next generation of loyal, four-legged officers.

Thirteen German Shepherd puppies have been born at the Police Dog Service Training Centre (PDSTC) in Innisfail and will be needing names to properly fight crime.

Anyone from the ages four to fourteen can submit names and 13 lucky contestants will be chosen by PDSTC staff.

Those selected will also receive a laminated photo of the puppy they named, a plush dog named Justice, and an RCMP water bottle.

There are a few rules to follow when submitting your names, though.

All the names must begin with the letter N, must be shorter than 10 letters and must be under 3 syllables.

All contestants must be between the ages of four to 14 and live in Canada. Only one entry per contestant is allowed.

The names must be received before March 25, and the winners will be announced on April 29.

Names can be submitted online or with a letter sent to the PDSTC.
