BBB cautions against possible Valentine’s Day scams

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – With Valentine’s Day coming up this Friday, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is reminding lovestruck wanderers to be a little bit more cautious this year.

Last year, according to the BBB, they received over 1,000 complaints about dating services.

The concerns included billing and collection issues, poor customer service, refund issues, advertising or sales practice issues, and difficulty cancelling the service due to automatic renewals.

Also, unsavoury cupids hunt via social media and email with romantic scams.

Scammers pose as potential partners to pursue possible prey by claiming they have big medical bills or some other emergency and need money.

Trying to catch online scammers is always difficult, as some can be across seas.
