Defending champ returning to Calgary National Bank Challenger

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic will be back in our city to defend his Calgary National Bank Challenger title.

“Karlovic is a world-class player who has thrilled tennis crowds worldwide for many years and his experience in Calgary was instrumental in revitalizing his career,” tournament director Danny Da Costa said.

When Karlovic was in Calgary in 2018, he made history as the oldest player to win an ATP Challenger.

The now 40-year-old is the third player announced to play in the event after Canadians Vasek Pospisil and Brayden Schnur.

The second edition of the tournament runs from February 24 to March 1 at the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre in southeast Calgary.
