CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Just how much are you willing to pay to watch this year’s Battle of Alberta?
If your answer isn’t “way more than usual” then you’re probably out of luck.
Tickets for this Saturday’s matchup between the Flames and Oilers have skyrocketed with seats where your head nearly touches the roof of the Saddledome hovering around $100 each.
It’s no surprise ticket prices have gone up since Wednesday’s matchup between the two teams.
The game in Edmonton featured nearly everything a hockey fan can ask for; a close game, multiple goals from both teams, a pair of fights (including a much-anticipated matchup between Zach Kassian and Matthew Tkachuk), and a shootout to close it out.
If you want to sit close enough to hear the players, you’re going to have to fork out over $400.
With the rest of the season still a tossup at this point, paying these prices could be worth it to see a preview of a playoff matchup between these two squads.
If they happen to meet in the playoffs, which is not out of the realm of possibilities, you can expect to see prices jump even higher.
If digging through your couch cushions to find enough money to go isn’t your style, you can always put those cushions back in a watch the game from the comfort of your home on Sportsnet.
The game between the Oilers and Flames will go Saturday at 8 p.m.
