Calgarian wins first Canadian gold at Youth Olympics

LEYSIN (660 NEWS) — Calgary’s Andrew Longino finished first in the men’s freeski halfpipe at the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games to capture Canada’s first gold medal.

The 17-year-old earned a score of 94.00.

Longino has also been selected as Canada’s flag bearer for the closing ceremony.

Lausanne 2020 runs until Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Team Canada features 78 athletes, with 22 of them hailing from Calgary.
