CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Plenty of people in the southeast will have to make some travel adjustments starting Wednesday at 9 a.m.

The city is permanently closing the 8th Street crossing at the CP tracks south of 9th Avenue as part of land negotiations for the Green Line LRT project and to accommodate Canadian Pacific railway reconfiguration and operations.

The city says it will be implementing a variety of short-term solutions to help improve the experience of moving through Ramsay and Inglewood, particularly on the Elbow River pathway.

Recommendations for drivers to navigate around it include using Olympic Way, 4th, 11th or 12th Streets.
