Calgarians remember those lost in Iran plane crash

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Two Calgarians have been identified as victims in the plane crash that killed 63 Canadians in Iran.
Among the 63 Canadian lives lost in the Ukraine International Airlines Flight were 2 Calgarians.

A student at Western Canada High School was identified on Wednesday afternoon.
Arshia Arbabbahrami, who was a grade 12 student at the school, has been confirmed as an international student who attended the high school for the last 3 years.
The Calgary Board of Education released a statement on Wednesday reading, “The Calgary Board of Education Critical Incident Response Team has been at the school today to support students and staff.”

The CBE goes on to say a memorial table has been set up in the school, adding that students are welcome to leave notes of condolence that will be shared with the family.
Arbabbahrami was one of 63 Canadians that were killed when Ukraine International Airline Flight PS752 went down in Tehran.
Wednesday evening, Kasra Saati who was an airline technician and was licensed with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) was identified as the second Calgarian to die in the crash.

Meanwhile, the University of Calgary said two of its alumni were among the victims of the crash: Marzieh Foroutan who graduated in 2017 and Shadi Jamshidi who worked as a technical sales representative from Mississauga.
